www.cullingworthparishcouncil.gov.uk FEBRUARY 2025 Welcome to the latest newsletter. Welcome to the latest edition of Cullingworth matters. The big topic of conversation and concern in the village at the current time seems to be the proposal to build a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on land at Manywells. At the time of going to press no actual planning application has been submitted to Bradford Council but work on our response, should a planning application be submitted, is well under way. A local group, Cullingworth Against BESS, has been set up by local residents who are opposed to the building of the proposed facility, especially with regards to its proximity to residential housing, and they have been actively campaigning to raise awareness. If you would like more information then you can follow them on Facebook or contact them at info@ cullingworthagainstbess.co.uk This year’s Christmas lights, especially as regards the Christmas tree itself, have been the best the village has seen and we have received a number of positive comments from residents to this effect. 2025 is Bradford’s City of Culture year with many events planned throughout the Bradford area, we will publish details of local events via our website and Facebook page. Wishing you all the best for 2025 VACANCY We currently have vacancies for councillors on Cullingworth Village Council. • Do you care about the village? • Do you feel frustrated at some of the decisions being made? • Do you have concerns about a specific issue? • Do you want to do something about it? • Do you have a couple of hours to spare each month?
