Christmas Lights Switch On This year has seen further additions to the village Christmas lights which  are seen on the various lampposts in the village and the new lights which the Village Council purchased for the Christmas tree itself have also been a significant improvement on previous years. The lights were officially turned on on the 7th December and our thanks go to the Cricket Club for hosting the children’s games and entertainments prior to the switch on ceremony and for hosting Santa throughout the day. All the children who visited Santa throughout the day received a small early Christmas present, courtesy of the Village Council. Cullingworth Paths Association For many years the volunteer group Cullingworth Paths Association has worked hard to ensure that the numerous paths and footpaths within the village are kept clear of weeds and do not become overgrown and inaccessible. Their members are all volunteers and, as well as the work that they undertake, the group meets regularly at The Methodist Church for a social “get together”. Unfortunately a number of members have left the group recently and additional members are urgently required in order to ensure that the valued work they undertake can continue. If you feel that you could spare a few hours a month and would like to join the group, or initially if you just want some additional information please contact Derek Goff on 01535 272190. It would be a shame if the group, which has served the village so well over many years, has to disband due to lack of volunteers.
